Name: Adam James Morgan
Nicknames: AJ (prefers Adam) Age:
26 Occupation:
Freelance guitarist Family:
Samantha Morgan (mother), James Tate (father)
Physical
Description: Height:
6' 4" Weight: 215
Hair: Brown Eyes:
Blue/green Distinguishing Marks: Adam
has a tattoo of the yin and yang on his upper right arm.
He is almost never seen without his silver amulet, worn
around his neck on a silver chain. The amulet bears a
pentacle, a five-pointed star bound within a circle, and
used to belong to his mother.
Powers/Abilities: Half witch,
half warlock, Adam has inherited abilities from both of
his parents. He has the power of telekinesis, and he
inherited the standard witch powers of scrying,
spellcasting, etc., from his mother. From his father, he
inherited blinking, a method of teleportation inherent
to all warlocks, as well as the ability to copy any
power used against him by a witch, like his ancestor
Matthew Tate. Unlike his ancestor however he is not
immune to such power once it is copied. However,
he has far from mastered this ability, and currently he
can only use it on a subconscious level. Even when he
does copy a power, he does not automatically know how to
wield it effectively; he has to put in the time and
effort to learn it and master it.

Hobbies: Sports, playing
guitar, writing music, surfing, driving his car,
collecting records. Physiological
Background: Adam is constantly struggling with
his mixed magical heritage. He wants to be a good
person, like his mother was, but he finds himself at
odds with his inner warlock, and must fight to control
it at all times. These two conflicting backgrounds are
the major driving forces in Adam's psychology and
morality. He tends to keep himself emotionally distanced
from others, fearing that if he ever loses control of
his dark side, anyone he may be close to could be in
danger.
Personality Quirks:
Adam is definitely more of a night person. He
puts off going to bed for as long as possible, often
staying up late working on a new song, but once he's in
bed, he puts off getting up for as long as possible. He
hates coffee and can't stand cigarettes, and while his
diet is mostly very healthy, he has a weakness for
peanut butter. He'll eat just about any food that has
peanut butter in it or on it. He keeps himself in
excellent shape, and doesn't really feel awake until
after he's finished his morning workout. When
Adam allows his innate evil to come to the forefront,
which typically only happens if he loses control of his
emotions, his normally blue-green eyes become completely
black, the only physical sign of his identity as a
warlock.
History: Adam is the result of a union
between a witch, Samantha Morgan, and a warlock, James
Tate. His father was a descendant of the infamous
warlock Matthew Tate, a one-time lover of Melinda Warren
who copied her powers and then betrayed her to the Salem
Witch Hunters in 1692. When Adam's parents first met,
James hid his true nature from Samantha, as his ultimate
goal was to seduce her and take her powers. James
succeeded in seducing Samantha, but before he could kill
her and steal her powers, Samantha discovered his true
nature and vanquished him. When she later learned that
she was pregnant, she decided to keep the baby,
reasoning that her being a witch would offset her
child's warlock parentage. Her son, Adam, was born in
Los Angeles on the night of Samhain, the Wiccan festival
of darkness (a.k.a. Halloween).
Samantha
was mostly correct in assuming that Adam would not be a
true warlock, like his father. However, when his magic
began to manifest itself, Adam displayed the powers of
both a witch and a warlock. Samantha began to teach her
son how to control his magic, and though it went against
her better judgment, she decided not to tell Adam about
his warlock father, hoping to save her son from a life
of evil.
When Adam was fourteen years old, his
mother died in a car accident. Instead of being sent to
a foster home like he was expecting, Adam instead became
the ward of Justin Tate, his father's older brother.
Adam spent the next four years living with his uncle,
and while he could tell that there was something off
about Justin, he could never quite figure it out. He
kept secret his knowledge about magic, afraid of how his
uncle would react to it. On Adam's eighteenth
birthday, Justin finally revealed himself as a warlock,
and told Adam the truth about his father. He tried to
convince Adam to become his apprentice and learn to
master his dark powers. Justin knew that Adam was
special. Most warlocks must kill a witch to obtain their
abilities, but Adam could do so simply by letting them
be used against him, exactly like his ancestor Matthew
Tate. Because of this, Adam had the potential to become
one of the most powerful warlocks of his time, and
Justin sought to control that power and use it for his
own gain.
Justin's plan backfired. He and Adam
argued, and Justin carelessly lashed out at his nephew
with a telekinetic blast. Adam copied the power, and
though he had no idea how to control it, he
instinctively attacked his uncle, allowing his inner
warlock to take over for the first time in his life.
Using his new ability, Adam quickly subdued Justin and
crushed his heart, killing him. Adam then passed out,
and didn't wake until the next morning. He was appalled
by what he had done, and tried to turn himself in, but
the police found no evidence that Adam had any role in
Justin's death. As Justin's only living relative,
Adam inherited his uncle's vast fortune. Adam got rid of
most of it as quickly as possible, mostly through
charities and other humanitarian causes. He had his
uncle's mansion torn down, and used his newfound wealth
to fund the construction of a hospital on the same site.
Adam remained in Los Angeles for the next eight years,
using what remained of his money to just concentrate on
his music and try to forget what happened that night.
During that time, he began delving into as much lore as
he could find, reading about witches, warlocks, and
other magical beings. He started practicing and refining
his magic, and grudgingly began to accept his parentage.
Eventually, Adam decided he couldn't stay in Los Angeles
anymore, as it held so many bad memories for him. He
packed his things and made his way north to San
Francisco, looking for a fresh start. Special Notes:
