Below is a list of abilities
and/or beings that can be in the game. This list
can be added to or modified as the GM's see the need
for it. This is a basic guideline. If you have any
questions please ask one of the GM's. Remember when
creating your own characters to keep them realistic.
Demons:
These are malevolent or evil spirits that were never
human. They can effect the world in small ways like
ghosts or they can possess a human and control them
for limited times. Demons are ageless. They can be
exorcised and even banished to another dimension.
They can also be affected by religious artifacts but
it is the faith or belief by the human in the
artifact that gives it power. (In other words an
atheist could not use a cross to ward off a demon.
They have to believe in it).
Empaths:
Paranormal or psychic ability to sense the emotions
of others. This is not telepathy but the ability to
sense what others are feeling
Fairies/Elves/Dwarfs/Giants:
These are elder races. Although some humans may
have some relation to them it would be from
centuries before. Most elder races are out of phase
with our world, they are part of this world but on a
different plane of existence.
Ghosts:
These are beings that were once human and have since
died. They usually stay around either a person or a
place. The longer they have been a ghost the more
they are able to effect the world in limited ways
such as making a room cold or moving small items.
Healers:
May be said to afford gradual relief from pain or
sickness through psychic connections with people.
Cannot do miracle cures but can slow down injuries
or speed up healing.
Immortals: Immortals are about the
rarest type of supernatural being out there. You
have a better chance of being turned into a Vampire
or Werewolf, then of being born or cursed into
Immortality.
Two different
types.
Born Immortals
- Age at a much slower rate and can only die of
decapitation or ancient age. They are the rarest of
the rare. In order for them to be born, two gene
carriers have to get together, basically a one in a
million chance. They can die, but come back almost
right away, just the more serious the injury the
longer it takes them to come back. Their aging
slows upon their first death.
Cursed
Immortals- Cursed into being by say for instance
Gypsy’s, Witches, whatever. Also age slower, just
at such a slow rate that it makes it seem as if they
live forever. They heal at a faster rate so it can
take more to kill them but do enough damage and they
will die, but the more sever the damage the longer
it'll take to heal. Decapitation, fire, stopping
the heart, are all sure ways to kill them. Their
aging slows upon the curse.
Immortal males
can impregnate mortal women although they aren't as
fertile as normal males. Immortal women can't get
pregnant (sorry don't want to deal with periods
during all of immortality). If they have children
could pass on a faster rate of healing and a slower
rate of aging but the child will not be immortal
just a better healer over all.
Mediums/Ghost
Seers:
Can see or hear ghosts. May listen to and relate
conversations with spirit voices, go into a trance
and speak without knowledge of what is being said,
allow a spirit to enter his or her body and speak
through it, or may use some form of physical tool,
such as a writing pad, to relay messages from the
spirits those who wish to contact them.
Psychics:
Ability to see/visualize past, present or future
events. This can be done using tools for scrying or
divination or just through tapping into psychic
resonances of a place or person. No mind reading or
telepathy.
Witches/Wizards/Warlocks:
These people can cast spells or make potions to
effect the world or others to some extent. They are
not all powerful. They cannot appear/disappear at
will; they cannot go forward/backwards in time, or
anything like that. For those who watch things like
Charmed, BTVS, Practical Magic etc think more along
the lines of Practical Magic.
Vampires:
These are beings who need blood to survive. They do
have more strength and agility then humans but they
are light sensitive (Sunlight won't kill them. It
will though dehydrate them faster then a human so
they prefer the nighttime over the day). They
cannot die except by fire or decapitation. A stake
through the heart paralyzes them. They do not need
to kill nor do they need to feed on humans but they
do need blood to survive. If severely wounded
feeding on blood can increase their healing time.
They can eat normal food, live fairly normal lives
but they do not age. Female vampires cannot
procreate however male vampires within the first
decade have on rare occasion sired a child. These
children aren't quite as strong as a vampire but
fairly close to where there is little difference.
They age fairly normally until their twenties were
it slows down to a stop. One becomes a vampire by
being drained of almost all blood and then feed
blood from a vampire.
Werewolves:
People with the ability to shape shift into a wolf
or wolf like creature after being placed under a
curse. The curse can be imposed from another (it
would have to be from someone very, very powerful)
or by being bitten by a werewolf while the person is
in wolf form. They can change at will during the
night hours once they have control of it
(approximately 10 years) , prior to that any thing
might trigger the change during the night.
Werewolves have an aversion to bright lights and
wolfs bane. They are allergic to silver, in all
forms. This allergic reaction can range from being
blisters from the touch on skin or to killing them
if taken internally. Can be killed by fire,
decapitation or silver poisoning. They age at a
slower rate then humans but are not immortal. They
can have children but they do chance in passing on
the werewolf curse. As
a human slight addition to strength and agility
along with heightened sense of smell, sight and
hearing.
Telekinetic: Ability to move objects with
one's mind. This varies in degrees with how old
the person is along with natural ability.
Pyrokinetic: Ability to light fires with
one's mind. This varies in degrees with how old
the person is along with natural ability.
Pretenders:
Geniuses with
the ability to be become anyone they want to
be. There are extraordinary individuals
among us known as PRETENDERS. Geniuses with
the ability to insinuate themselves into any
walk of life, to literally become anyone.
Prodigies/Wunderkind:
Masters a
skill or art at an early age, that doesn't
seem to have any indication as to how it was
learned. Such areas could be languages,
math, science, music, chess, painting, and
so on. Some known ones are Mozart, H.P
Lovecraft, Picasso, Chopin.
