Vampire
These
are beings who need blood to survive. They
do have more strength and agility then humans
but they are light sensitive (Sunlight won't
kill them. It will though dehydrate them
faster then a human so they prefer the nighttime
over the day). They cannot die except by
fire or decapitation. A stake through the
heart paralyzes them. They do
not need to
kill nor do they need to feed on humans but they
do need blood to survive. If severely
wounded feeding on blood can increase their
healing time. They can eat normal food,
live fairly normal lives but they do not age.
Female vampires cannot procreate however male
vampires within the first decade have on rare
occasion sired a child. These children
aren't quite as strong as a vampire but fairly
close to where there is little difference.
They age fairly normally until their twenties
were it slows down to a stop. One becomes
a vampire by being drained of almost all blood
and then feed blood from a vampire.
Hobbies:
Reading, writing, movies, sports of any kind. Going out clubbing, trying to solve cold cases in his spare time. He also has a degree as a chef, so he loves to cook.
Psychological Background:
Dylan hates what he is, thinks of himself as a monster. As a younger vampire, he struggles at times to control the blood lust. Other then that, he's great guy, loves his job and helping people. He seems to think that helping people is a small start to making up for what he is. He wishes he'd never been turned.
Personality Quirks:
Jogs every morning then works out on the heavy bag, all before work. Hates seafood of any kind, hates raw tomatoes but eats cooked ones. Collects CD's of all his favorite music. Also has a collection of records and 8 track tapes, as well as cassette tapes, whatever was used over the years.
History:
Dylan was born the last of ten children, to his parents, Robert and Doris Cross. Robert was a lawyer with his own practice. Doris was of course a stay at home mother. Having his own practice gave Robert enough money to easily support his family. Robert was one of the most sought after defense attorneys in New York.
When Dylan was born all of the children except the eldest Robert Jr, were still in school. So school was interesting, going to class with your older siblings. But it was a good life, they had everything they needed.
He did well in school, got good grades, was involved in sports and was very popular.
Growing up Dylan decided he wanted to be like his father and help people. The only problem was that Dylan didn’t' want to attend college for years, so he did the next best thing, he
joined the Navy. Becoming an MP.
The first few days were rough, but by the time a month passed, he found he loved it.
Dylan had a family, a job, his own home, so all he needed was a wife.
That soon changed when he went to a family party. There he met one of his father's former clients. Caroline Rogers was accused of killing her elderly husband. She was found not guilty and she was immediately attracted to Dylan and he her.
Soon they were dating and married.
On their honeymoon, Caroline who hadn't tried to change her husband till it was to late, wouldn’t make the same mistake twice. That night she turned Dylan into a vampire.
He didn’t take that well and only fed when he couldn’t stand it anymore. Dylan didn’t want to be what he was and as time went on he found Caroline wasn't as sweet as he thought. When Dylan found out she was in actuality a killer, he left her. He was away from her a while, even having another relationship that brought about a daughter he doesn’t know of. But Caroline tracked him down. He would have lost his life to the older vampire, if not for another vampire.
Vin Tanner came to his rescue, Vin was older then both of them and in the end, he managed to defeat Caroline. Dylan and Vin have stayed in touch over the years, becoming close friends and they even know where the other always is.
Time moved on and Dylan moved from town to town, working as police officer the whole time.
He also had trust issues after Caroline, so he hadn't dated since. Wasn't even interested in any woman, not till he met his partner. She was the first woman he was attracted to, but he has refused to do anything about it.
