able to move things with her mind either by

Alex is a hereditary Witch, like her mother and
gets her telekinesis from her as well. They have
an ancient, but well kept Book of Shadows that
has been handed down through the generations and
in the Book, there is a family tree that shows
her ancestors traced back to the Salem Witch
trials.
Hobbies:
Riding
her motorcycle, practicing her craft, working out
and martial arts
Psychological Background:
Alex is
very cocky and sometimes opens her mouth before she
thinks. She was raised to say what she thinks and
she does, abruptly, and has no qualms about it.
Though she can be subtle when the situation calls
for it, in her personal life, she has no problems
voicing her opinion.
Personality Quirks:
First thing she thinks about when she wakes up is,
COFFEE!! Usually she'll take her cup with her to the
bathroom and have a shower, lingering under the hot
water whilst sipping her caffeine quota. She's
definitely not a morning person and usually grunts
answers out if she hasn't finished her first cup of
coffee. She prefers staying up late and doesn't
usually sleep well when she finally crashes.
History:
Alex was an only
child and spent most of her time with her mother,
who taught her the Craft and helped her control her
ever growing Telekinesis power. Her father was
hardly home and she often asked her mother about him
and why he wasn't like other daddies, but her mother
would just smile and tell her not to worry herself
with such things.
Alex attended elementary
school like all the other kids in her neighbourhood,
but because of her abrupt attitude, she was often
getting into fights and this is when her father
finally took an interest in her. He taught her how
to box and signed her up for martial arts classes so
she could better defend herself without having to
use her telekinesis. She was told several times by
both parents that she must never use her ability
against an innocent who wouldn't be able to defend
themselves against her telekinesis and she tried
really hard not to, but sometimes, she just couldn't
help herself. Eventually the neighbourhood kids and
their parents realized there was something strange
about the Shaws and shunned them. So, in an effort
to give their daughter a more normal life, they
moved and tried to start over. But things were never
the same after the move. Her mother had grown up in
their old neighbourhood and missed her old house
terribly, soon falling into a deep depression and
her father disappeared more than he ever did before.

By the time Alex had graduated High
School, her father was almost non-existant and her
mother spent most of her time staring out the
window. Alex tried her hardest to help her mother,
but she blamed herself, knowing that if she had not
shown her ability, they would still all be happy.
However, she knew there wasn't anything she could
do, so she took herself off to college to study
Ancient Civilizations and only returned periodically
to check on her mother. It was during one of these
visits that she was told her father had died and her
mother was very ill and probably wouldn't make it
much longer. Alex was devastated and knew that she
would have to drop out of college to take care of
her mother and all the affairs that went along with
the death of a loved one. Her mother died a few
months later, seemingly of a broken heart, (the
doctors couldn't find anything physically wrong with
her). So, Alex was left with a house and all their
possessions to take care of. Eventually, all was in
hand and Alex was left with a few meagre
possessions, and of course, their beloved Book of
Shadows. It was then that she again knuckled down
and began practicing the craft and her ability with
more fervour than ever before.
It
was a few years later that she landed a job with the
Center for her abilities as a Witch and telekinetic,
having been contacted by them shortly after she
dropped out of college(apparently she had been being
watched for awhile, unbeknownst to her, due to her
achievements in her college studies on Ancient
Civilizations). At first, she turned them down,
having too much to deal with at that time with the
death of her parents. However, they were persistent
and she did eventually go to work in the Cairo
branch, thinking that the job was based solely on
her knowledge and interest in Ancient Civilizations.
However, she soon found out otherwise when she was
approached by the head of her branch who wanted to
show her a demonstration. She went along, curious,
and to her surprise, she was taken to a large
auditorium of sorts and introduced to the other
Witches and magical beings that worked for the Cairo
branch. She watched in great interest and then
turned to her boss with questioning eyes. He
chuckled and then led her away to a quiet area and
explained that, yes, it was her knowledge on Ancient
Civilizations that initially peaked their interest
in her, but there were underlying reasons as well.
They had traced her family tree
and realized that she was more than just a college
student with an interest in Ancient Civilizations.
This was the main reason she was contacted by the
Center and why they were so persistent about giving
her a job. She was thrilled at the prospect of
finally being able to use her abilities in front of
others and discuss the Craft and other abilities
with the rest of the 'staff' at the Center. She
could help use her abilities as both a Witch and a
telekinetic to help them. And this was all she'd
ever wanted to do. Now she was able to study the
Craft at an even deeper level than she'd ever done
before.
A few years
later, when the US Eastern Branch needed to borrow
the Book of the Dead, she accompanied the Book to
protect it on the journey. Packing her duffle bag
with her clothes and few possessions, including her
family Book of Shadows, she headed out to the US
Eastern Branch, where she would soon decide that she
liked the atmosphere of the place and the people and
decided to stay on, offering her services to them.
She received a transfer and has managed to find a
place within the group.
